Welcome to the Technologizer Community Sorta-Private Beta
I'm Harry McCracken, and I'm working furiously on getting my new tech site, Technologizer, ready for launch. At the moment, everything's still under wraps--but if you're reading this, you're one of the first members of the Technologizer community, which is the social side of the site. (The main Technologizer site, where I'll blog, is still in a preview version.) I've invited you in to kick the tires and tell me what you think, and so that the community has at least a small quorum of members before we officially throw the doors open to the world.
If you've gotten this far, you've succeeded in acquiring a Ning ID--most of Technologizer's community features will be powered by the very cool Ning--and have discovered the Technologizer Forum. If you didn't fill out your profile on the way in I'd love it if you'd click over to the My Page tab and tell us a bit more about yourself. You could also form a group devoted to one of your tech interests or upload some photos or video.
Dig around a bit and you'll find other features here in the community, and we'll add more as time goes on. But of course, the value will come not from features, but from the people who participate and the ideas, advice, and other random stuff they share with each other.
I'm calling this brief phase of the community's life "semi-private" because it's really not all that exclusive. In fact, if you know anyone who you think would like to join this community, please click on the Invite tab and ask 'em to join us here.
Lastly, if you have any questions about Technologizer or suggestions for it, please comment on this post. I can't wait until we're fully launched, and I look forward to hanging out with all of you for a long time to come...

Harry, I've been following you on twitter since hearing you on TWiT #148 and reloading the Technologizer webpage daily awaiting its launch... Can't wait to see it... Thanks for all your hard work!!

I have NO IDEA who OgCricket is, or why it was SHE who invited me to join, but I'm just glad I got the invitation, and was hoping I would find out what and where when you did it. I always enjoyed your monthly editorials at PC World and have noticed they've YET to find a real replacement for you, opting, instead, to have two editors who are sharing that spot.
I guess that's a real compliment -- takes two to replace you!

We have really missed you at PCW Community... and, I'm sure your loyal readers miss you as well. I'm glad to see you're doing well, and your website is awesome!
I finally made the jump and joined your forum. Now I'm waiting for the Newsletter to come out so I can join that too.
Just one thing though.... wheeeere are all the emos??? :0 :( :D You just gotta have emos,
Harry! You know what they say... "a forum is not a forum until the emos join the forum" ;) (well, I just made that up.) :p
