the big,bad,bug in ie, last week,did you all get patched in time?

I have a family member in seattle who I haven't gotten an email from in days. I sent her countless emails warning her about the unpatched bug in ie and the links to download a more secure browser,and of course to install the patch as quick as it came out. I've been pulling out my old gray hair with worry because in the last email I got from her she said I'm in control panel trying to delete ie and it won't let me hellllllp,me! I then sent her more emails to tell her not to delete ie as she needs that to put in the patch,right? She was running xp sp2 and I think ie 6,she never updated to ie7 because she said she didn't like 7 or something. I hope the weather is the reason I haven't heard back from her. As for me I put in the patch and started using a different browser anyway.Has anything like this ever happened to you? I hope you all got patched in time,survived the bad winter storms and have a happy christmass this year.
