Well way back yonder I bought a Commodore 64 as my first shot at trying the world of computers. At the time I had a young son at home to help provide a little knowledge of how to do things with electronics.
At that time we tought it was great to be able to get on line and see things (but it sure took some time and wasn't all that good.) We bought a flight similator program as I flew a little at that time. But of course it wouln't handle very well, so most of the time we crashed. At least in a real plane you could control flight.
With my job as a Banker, I helped approve credit for people and we set up the Commodore 64 to help me get credit reports to approve things. One time we were drawing reports when that dang thing got sideways and made up it's mind to add a few hundred reports to my request for one report.
Yes We thought they were up and coming-little did I know...
So I found one a couple of years ago and thought it would be great to go back in time with the 64. Paid a good buck for it from a guy in Canada, when it arrived it look worn but was guaranteed to work or my money back from Canada. Well let me tell you the story of the old 64. I had to round up some parts and items to get it going and thought it ws ready to come back to life. Turned on the power and went to the kitchen to make me a cup of coffee, first thing I heard was the FireAlarm in the hall going off.
Got back ito the room and found it making a loud noise and the case was melting on the desk. Before I got it out of the house it had burned a good hole in a cheap desk and helped turn on all the FireAlarms in the house.
So you can say that was The Worst Computer I ever had, and never mention Commodore to me again!
