I am writing for my daughter with most content contributed by her. The reason she can't write is, well, you will understand when I'm done.

This is what my daughter has to say; takes roughly 25-35 minutes from hitting the power button to being completely ready to use, about another 10 minutes to get the the browser open, once the browser is open it takes almost 5 minutes for anything to respond, can't run anything higher than windows 2000, get the virtual memory minimum too low warnings, gets hot enough to cook on it, can barely run office, usb port is hiding under the leg, still has a floppy disc drive, random things happen when I'm typing (cursor will move like 2 lines up to the middle of a word, or a window will pop up like I right clicked something), cursor can't keep up with my typing, randomly shuts down, it's a Micron Transport

If i try to watch a video the internet "encounters an error and must be shut down", can't keep any documents or pictures on it, it's HUGE, took me 3 hours to type 4 pages, I'm a college student trying to do homework on it which is next to impossible.
Won't read burned cds, can't reopen the browser without ending the process after closing it, mouse acts funny sometimes.
System: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.00.2195, service pack 4. Windows XP will not fit on the drive.
Computer: x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 10 AT/AT COMPATIBLE
196,080 KB RAM and a massive 4 gig HDD
It's LOUD :) and it takes a good ten minutes to shut down and it weighs like 10 lbs,
You have to hit the laptop in order for the screen to work, if you unplug it turns off, I don't have a wireless card for it, the top slot for the internet card doesn't work, if it's on all day nothing will respond anymore, the power cord is held together with duct tape or it comes apart if a breeze blows through the room.

A lot of my work is done online and i can't watch videos I need and I've had trouble submitting assignments and tests. Good thing Kent has a great library and computer lab.
This is my first year at Kent State and this brick isn't even a step up from my graphing calculator but it took all I could afford to start college and in this economy we just can't afford to purchase a new laptop. Also, having trouble finding something decent used.
This is it in my dorm room. One of the most embarrassing workstations on campus.

This is my dad's first laptop which actually started its life cycle as a test machine at Microsoft.
I thank you for your consideration.
Mandi
